Electrical Testing

Ensuring electrical systems within your business are safe and functional is essential to minimise downtime due to faults while safeguarding employees and visitors from electrical hazards. We are NICEIC Approved Contactors providing electrical testing in Bridgend and across South Wales including EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Reports), Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC), and PAT testing. For further information or to book an inspection, get in touch with the team.

EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Reports)

Periodic inspections of electrical systems are vital to ensure your business remains compliant with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. As a business owner it is your duty to maintain electrical systems properly to protect users from electrical hazards. Periodic testing will establish the current condition of your electrical systems and it will also identify deterioration of components which can be addressed before they pose an issue. As a rule of thumb, you should arrange electrical testing annually depending on the type of electrical equipment and machinery you have on-site.

PAT Testing

PAT testing inspects and tests the electrical wiring within portable appliances. Regular testing is advised to protect users from potential electrical faults that could pose a significant hazard. We can provide PAT testing on a contractual basis, so you never need to worry about your certification lapsing. In addition, we can also provide individual call outs for ad-hock testing when required.

The law does not state how often you need to arrange portable appliance testing, however, as a rule of thumb, we advise annual testing in most cases. Some appliances will not need testing so frequently, but we can advise you when we visit your site.

Upon completion of the PAT test, your electrical equipment will have a sticker affixed to state whether the equipment passed or failed. It will also detail when the next test is due. Equipment that fails may be repairable and we can advise you as and when the issue arises.

EIC (Electrical Installation Certificates)

All new electrical installations require EIC certification to vouch for their safety. Our electrical engineers can inspect new commercial electrical installations and provide EICs to certify that they are safe.
